LV Crime Map collects the following information: • Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and a hashed password. Account creation is optional for basic map use but required for premium features. • Location data: With your permission, we collect your device's approximate location to center the map on your area. If you enable push notifications, we store a home location you explicitly set. We do not track your location continuously or in the background. • Push notification token: If you enable notifications, we store your device's Expo push token to deliver incident alerts. • User preferences: Notification settings, alert radius, incident type filters, and bookmarked incidents are stored on our servers and associated with your account. • Device identifiers: We collect an anonymized device identifier for analytics purposes.
All incident data displayed in LV Crime Map is derived from publicly available radio scanner feeds. We do not record private communications. Incident descriptions are generated automatically from public dispatch audio and may contain errors or omissions. This data is provided for informational purposes only.
Free-tier users see banner advertisements served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve relevant ads in accordance with Google's privacy policy. On iOS, we respect your App Tracking Transparency preferences. Premium subscribers do not see advertisements. We do not sell your personal information to advertisers.
Premium subscriptions are processed through Apple's App Store. We do not store or have access to your payment card information. Subscription management is handled by RevenueCat, which receives your App Store receipt and user identifier to verify entitlements. RevenueCat's privacy policy governs their handling of this data.
LV Crime Map uses the following third-party services: • Clerk — account authentication and session management • RevenueCat — subscription and entitlement management • Google AdMob — advertising (free tier only) • Mapbox — map rendering • Vexo — anonymized usage analytics • Cloudflare R2 — audio storage • Heroku — backend hosting Each service operates under its own privacy policy. No personally identifiable information is shared with these services beyond what is necessary to provide the functionality described.
Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from within the app, which permanently removes your account and all associated preferences. Incident records are retained for a limited period and automatically removed from public view as they age. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with data brokers.
LV Crime Map is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through our service, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app or website after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
